ABOUT THE EVENT
The lecture plunges us into the heart of the 19th century, tracing the artist's life through the history of Impressionism. It evokes all the different roles played by Gustave Caillebotte: great painter, patron of the Impressionists, enlightened collector, outstanding navigator, philatelist, great horticulturist and provocateur through his legacy.
This lecture, based on family archives, will help understand why Caillebotte, so famous in his day, became an unknown Impressionist over time.
